Are you bored of dating apps - with choice overload, ghosting, catphishes, screen consumption? We create these events to give you a break from all that and the digital world! Nothing beats authenticity and meeting in person.

We understand that most people will be feeling somewhat nervous before attending this event, and we encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and try it anyway. Overcoming the nerves and attending brings a rewarding feeling and many benefits. Like gaining confidence as well as the prospect of meeting someone for you. We endeavour to make people feel as comfortable as possible with a warm welcome. Plus refreshing bar drinks are always available for those needing that bit of dutch courage.

It depends on the venue size and attendance on the night but we aim for at least 8 mini dates per person, and anywhere up to 14 is the maximum. Each one is around 5 minutes long. At the sound of the ringing bell gentlemen switch seats to the next table with a lady sat at each one. Chat away and see if there's a connection. As you date each person, fill out your scorecard and indicate whether you'd like to see them again, along with any handy notes. The completed scorecard is given to the host at the end, and you will receive your match results the next day. 

All are welcome to attend who are living permanently in Cornwall. Our name is more to do with location than where you were born.

Experience of previous events shows us that there is a mixed range of twenty years or so, from the starting age group.

E.g. 30 plus will stretch to people attending up to 50 years old/early 50s. 

Also bare in mind, we don't know how many people in their 30s, or 40s will be there. We recommend not to get too hung up over the ages and focus more on connection. If you're not sure, try both age groups! We are not strict on capping the age ranges, as we like to leave this for your own discernment. 

Anything you wish, and we encourage you to be your authentic self, honest and open! As long as it's mutual topics and appropriate! Most people want to know the area you live, your job, your hobbies and interests, and find that that is enough to get the ball rolling until time is up. (The time does go really fast so make the most of it). We also provide some fun ice breaker questions on the tables, for other ideas, should you need them.

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, please inform us immediately. Our events rely on an even number of male/female attendees and the seating to be at full capacity in order to give everyone the maximum opportunity to find a match. Full refunds are given with 7 or more days notice before the event date (minus a £2.50 admin fee).  Tickets are non-exchangeable or refundable with less than 7 days notice given to us by the attendee.

We believe five minutes is a long enough indicator to know if you'd like to spend more time getting to know a person after attending Cornish Speed Dating.

Most people can tell if they're attracted to someone in the first 90 seconds after they meet, which bodes well for speed dating. Imagine all the time consumption from messaging, and money spent on individual dates, after meeting them from a dating app? They might not be your cup of tea, after all that effort.

At speed dating, what you see is what you get. It avoids awkwardly making excuses to leave, if you're not into that person, you get to move onto your next date in a few more minutes. Without revealing to their face whether you want to see them again. Just note a yes or no next to their name, and we do the rest. Match results revealed the following morning.
